August 1, 2003 - W. Douglas Eaton, President, announces additional results from the Arn property, a gold-copper prospect located in southwestern Yukon.
The most recent work was done in the eastern part of the property and consisted of drill pad construction, minor hand trenching and soil sampling. A total of four drill pads were built in the vicinity of Showing A. These pads are for a series of diamond drill holes that will fan out to test downdip and along strike from a 2002 drill intersection which averaged 11.92 g/t gold across 12.67 m. Showing A underlies a 50 m wide talus and soil filled gully. The hole containing the above mentioned intersection was the only hole that explored under the gully. Samples from talus and rare bedrock exposures support the drill results.
The new hand trenches targeted Showing B which lies about 30 m west of Showing A. Previous trenching at Showing B identified what was thought to be an isolated lens of magnetite and sulphide rich skarn. The recent hand trenches demonstrated that the zone extends well beyond the initial exposure. A total of four trenches are spaced over a strike length of 20 m and produced a weighted average grade of 2.83 g/t gold and 2.49% copper over an average width of 4.73 m. The zone is open to the west under frozen soil and talus. It appears to terminate to the east against a small fault. Showings A and B both dip steeply. They are located about 3.5 km east of Showings K and L described in the Company’s news released dated July 18, 2003.
